and older. It is located one and a half miles from the beach
in Seal Beach.
This guard gated community spans a square mile and is home
to 9,000 residents, or one-third of the population of the
City of Seal Beach. With over 200 buses stopping at
Leisure World, access to Disneyland (11 miles), shopping and
attractions doesn't even require driving a car. Within
its gates are things to do such as tennis, swimming, lawn
bowling, dances and more.
Seal Beach Leisure World is comprised of two types of
property ownership: the cooperative unit, in which the owner
is a shareholder in the housing corporation, and whose
ownership is evidenced by one share of stock and the right
to occupy the apartment; and the condominium, in which the
owner has a deed to the apartment and an undivided interest
in the Mutual Corporation's assets. In both cases, the
Mutual Corporation maintains the structure and related
grounds.
